Birthdays and Beginnings.......

Yep, it's my birthday today!  It's been a bit of a struggle since I have had a big ending in my life in the last two days that was unexpected.  Since I consider this my new beginning, I would love for you to share your words of wisdom, a quote, a great thought, a website, a photo, or anything you want.  That would be a great gift to me.  Thanks for reading Red Carpet Closet!  On Monday, we will be back to our regularly scheduled program.

  4. Mr. Charles Speck, my Latin and favorite teacher always said and he said it often enough that it was meant to be the thing we said to other people: "Let flexibility ever be your watchword."

Whenever I need to go off and think about things, I play hooky, get lunch at a fun restaurant, see a matinee of something (now movies, in Evanston, it was whatever I could get half price tickets to -- saw some great shows + performers that way: Tommy Tune, Honey Coles and Lucy Arnaz doing Gershwin, Marion Ross in Arsenic and Old Lace. On the way to the theatre I'd stop at the Art Museum and get lost in my favorite Monet.

So for new beginnings, I vote for flexibility and taking the time for both the familiar and comforting and to surprise yourself with something new.
Or DM me your address + I'll roll some fun art up in a tube + send it. Presents are always cheerful, right? ; )

Happy Birthday + Happy New Beginnings both.

  6. Sorry to hear about the unexpected Kristyn. I know you will pick yourself up and continue on the exciting journey you involved in. Keep in mind that events that are "mind blowing" may not ever escape your feelings; but I can assure you that it will find it's place in the proper perspective in time....otherwise keep forging ahead, I am rooting for you! btw happy belated birthday!
