Interviews with the Filmmakers from Slamdance 2013
Last night I was privileged to talk to some of the filmmakers who were showing their work at Slamdance this year. Slamdance runs during the same time period as the Sundance Film Festival as a place "For Filmmakers, By Filmmakers." It was started two decades ago, as an alternative for indie filmmakers to have a place to go after Sundance became so commercial. Some well known films have come out of Slamdance including Paranormal Activity, Mad Hot Ballroom, and The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.
Take a look at the next crop of filmmakers with my interviews below. I'm keeping my eye on Nicole Teeny and her documentary Bible Quiz. It won the doc category and the subject matter fascinates me even though I would completely fail any quiz on the Bible. I just love the art of competition. Check out the trailer here.
The interviews:

Behind the Scenes of the Governors Ball

The food by Wolfgang Puck is always delicious from the Kobe Beef Sliders to the Smoky Tuna Tartare, it's just delicious. However, watch the video below, we catch him wiping his nose. Ew.
My article and photos from the morning at SheKnows will give you even more insight on the morning and I shared quite a few photos from the room and the decor.
From Dining to Decor: A Sneak Peek at the Governors Ball
Finally, I was lucky enough to make the official cocktail sponsored by Patrón. It shows that I have no backup plan in my career because I make a terrible bartender. So, I better keep at this entertainment reporting thing. I drank wine, champagne, and tequila all before 11am. It was quite nice.
My article for Starpulse, along with the videos, will be a feature this weekend, so I will update it here later this week.
Look at how excited I am to dive into a cocktail at 10am. It was delicious!
If you are free tonight, please join me LIVE on Spreecast at 7:30pm PT/10:30pm ET as I interview the nominees from the 2013 Slamdance Awards. The lucky nominees are in Park City, Utah while I will broadcasting from rainy LA. RSVP here.

Media Mondays
It's hard to believe we are in the final month of the year, but I am looking forward to a Christmas nap. Life has been so busy here in LA! We had lots of controversy surrounding the DWTS finale, but, on the flip side, my co-host and I had the opportunity to interview Fierce Five Olympic Gold Medalist, Jordyn Wieber. You have to take the good with the not-so-good. Here's where I was last week:
Tom Barnard Podcast: Every Tuesday, I dish the dirt with Tom and the crew. It's one of my favorite stops each week. Check out last week's show, I come in right at the top.
Hyundai Santa Fe Press Reveal at the LA Auto Show: While I may have retired from this, I still cover press events in the automotive world. If you want to see the crazy and wild moment when I interviewed Hyundai President and CEO John Krafcik, click here. The crowds wanted to speak with him, but I had the opportunity to interview him first.
AfterBuzz TV's Dancing With the Stars Finale: Oh boy, this final week was fraught with such controversy over the judging, the voting, and the eventual winners. My co-host, Suri, talked openly about how she felt and we have both talked about our frustrations. See how it all went down and listen to our fun interview with Fierce Five member, Jordyn Wieber....such a sweet girl! I'm going to miss this show, but I will be back in full force when Season 16 returns in March.

Talking Toyota on Inside the LA Auto Show
Inside the LA Auto Show: The show aired on CBS 2 and KCAL 9 here in Los Angeles and not only did I talk about the 2013 line-up for Toyota, my nerdy dancing made the credits. Yep, total dork here.
SheKnows: A couple of my favorite articles from last week:
Michael Jackson's Thriller turns 30--No one was bigger during the '80s.
Scarlett Johansson does the weather on The Today Show--I love it when a star doesn't take themselves seriously.
Anna Nicole Smith's daughter in GUESS Kids Spring campaign--How cute is she? I hope this story ends differently than Anna's though.
Cocktails and Conversation: It was my last appearance of the year with these sassy ladies. Listen in as we talk a lot about Angus T. Jones and his religious controversy with Two and a Half Men.
Spreecast: The DWTS finale was so controversial, that Suri and I hit the internet one more time to talk to the fans. Thank you all for joining in with your thoughts and comments. If you missed it, you can watch the archive below.
Don't forget it's #RadioBurtt night at 6:35pm PT/9:35pm PT tonight on Driving with Gass. Join in the conversation at KWSS.org live!

Media Mondays
Beautiful weather and beautiful views during my San Francisco Thanksgiving weekend.
Here's where you could find me last week all over the world wide web. Pick your favorite and let me know what you liked best:
Breaking Dawn, Part 2 on Spreecast: If you watched last week's fan chat with Amy Taylor, we couldn't talk about the twist. Finally, the NDA was lifted and we talked all about it. What do you think about the final movie? Let me know!
Good Morning, Spreecast: I made another appearance on the morning show even though I had to duck out to do a radio spot, but I had a great time with Seth Everett again. This also featured the breaking Elmo resignation news.
Even though I my laptop crashed, I still had to write! I had the opportunity to cover the Hitchcock premiere, so this is what I learned from the chilling red carpet for SheKnows:
Hitchcock Premiere
Hollywood's Favorite Hitchcock Movies
Oprah's Favorite Things is Back!
You can see my red carpet photo from the cold red carpet on Facebook. I wore lots of red, an appropriate color for the evening.
Dancing With the Stars: It's the semi-finals and our viewers went crazy because we had DWTS troupe member Henry Byalikov. Watch the Afterbuzz TV show here:
The Radio Dish: One of my favorite radio spots each week includes this Kansas City show, so listen in and hear the latest scoop on Ocotmom.....noooo, not Octomom! I come in at 20:30.
If you want the latest entertainment scoop this week, tune in tonight for a little #RadioBurtt on Driving with Gass at 6:35pm PST/9:35pm EST on KWSS.org.

Media Mondays
Last Monday, I kicked off the week by co-hosting Good Morning, Spreecast with Seth Everett. I talked a bit about it here, but the show was so much fun, we are doing it all over again tomorrow at 7:30am PST/ 10:30am EST. You can join us at the link here.
Tuesday, I predicted that Channing Tatum would be named "Sexiest Man Alive" by People the next day. (I actually wrote an article about it way earlier on November 6th for SheKnows....that's some good insider news, right?) Turns out, I was right. Hear my entertainment scoop on the Tom Barnard Podcast here.
I also had a blast with Amy Taylor chatting about the Twilight camp and premiere on Spreecast. We had a lot of great viewer questions, so we are going to do it all over again TODAY at 5pm PST/8pm EST. Link is here. We will cover the twist and what people really thought of the movie now that it is out and hitting the mainstream....meaning my Non-Disclosure Agreement has finally expired!
Speaking of Twilight, if you missed my Taylor Lautner interview, it was posted here. I'm also giving you my Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson interview below. Kristen was extremely likable which a lot of you have commented on. If you want to see all of my Twilight coverage over the years, you can view it here at my publicist's site.
And then the week brought me to one of the final episodes of Dancing With the Stars on AfterBuzz TV. It has been such a fun ride and the fans have been responding to our shows each week. I'm already looking forward to Season 16. Here's last week's episode.
Then I hit the road in my ILX and went off to LAX for a quick 24-hour gig at EPCOT......that's a lot of acronyms. It was fun getting a behind the scenes look at the park. Here's a crazy photo from my trip or hit my Facebook page for this one.
Me and Sully!
I had one final radio stop for the week with my ladies in Kansas City on The Radio Dish where we chatted about Taylor Swift and the new round of Star Wars coming up. Listen here at the 20-minute mark.
And if you missed any of my articles on SheKnows last week, here are my three favorites:
Biggest American Music Awards Flops--Ouch, Katy Perry, sing on key!
Biggest American Music Awards Openers--The ladies rule the stage.
Janeane Garofalo Had No Idea She Was Married--Oh, for say, 20 years!!!
Have a great week, everyone! Please enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday......and let me know what's your favorite dish: mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, or stuffing?

My Adventures with the ILX
I kicked off my day by co-hosting, Good Morning, Spreecast, with Seth Everett. We talked about everything from Kristen Stewart to Elmo to the fact that Fifty Shades of Grey is just commercial porn....and oh yeah, I danced in my pjs to Gangham Style. That was unfortunate. See it all here.
I drove the ILX around taking me to my BarWorks class as you can tell from my workout gear in the top photo. I decided that the back-up camera with multi-view was my favorite feature of the day. I have a back-up camera in my current vehicle and I always say it is a necessary piece of equipment, but the ILX actually guides me in reverse. As someone who is an embarrassing parallel parker, this is going to be key for me this week. Maybe I will finally parallel park in three turns of the wheel for once.
A snapshot of the back-up camera in reverse with the guiding lines. Pretty cool, right?

This shot gives you a better idea of the screen size too.
I then drove back home to do a couple of entertainment spots on Driving with Gass in Phoenix and The Radio Dish in Kansas City all while finishing up my entertainment pieces of the day for SheKnows like this one:
Finally, I learned my co-host, AJ Gibson, and I were nominated for an IAWTV Award along with our show, AfterbuzzTV's So You Think You Can Dance after show. Holy cow, what a day! See the live announcement below:
Tomorrow is definitely going to be an adventurous day in the ILX as I have a screening to attend, a little bit of beauty to work in, and a fun fan chat about last night's Twilight premiere on Spreecast.
Don't forget to enter for a chance to win a week with the ILX for yourself. It's so easy to enter. Info is here.
If you want to join my Twilight fan chat, it's happening at 5pm PST today at this link. See you there!
By the way, the winner of my Twilight giveaway has been announced. Congrats to Elle A! I sent you an email so make sure to send me your mailing address.
Acura has invited me to test the new ILX and share my honest thoughts through social media. I may receive product, access or content, but all commentary is my own.

Media Mondays
I can feel that award show season is just around the corner because my media appearances are kicking in to high gear and everyone wants to know who the front runner is so far. This week, it's Argo, but we still have a solid 30 days of movies to watch. I might change my mind next week since I have a Flight screening tomorrow.
Either way, follow me all week as I ride around in my Acura ILX Hybrid. Yes, it's borrowed, but I am going to be chronicling my adventures all around LA. If you want to win a week with the ILX, make sure to enter here. It's so easy and there up runner-up prizes of $50 and $100 gift certiheficates. You don't want to miss it!
Here are some of my fun appearances from last week...pick and choose your adventure!
Oh, hello, Molly Ringwald.....you are my 80s idol. At reading of Molly's new book, When It Happens To You at Blushington.
Another fun week on Afterbuzz TV talking DWTS.
The Radio Dish: I love my Kansas City ladies. I come in around the 19:20 mark dishing the Hollywood Bling.
Cocktails and Conversation: If you missed any of my Twilight press junket scoop, you can hear it here at the 24:00 mark. I talk a lot about Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner in this one.
Spreecast: If you missed my interview with Marisa Quinn who plays "Huilen" in Breaking Dawn, Part 2, you can view it here. She talks a lot about that big huge final scene. If you read the books, you know what I am talking about!
The Detroit Bureau: It's amazing what you find on Google Alerts. Here's an interesting article about Toyota's appearance on HSN, it's kind of cool to be a part of automotive marketing history. The link is here or double click the photo to read the text.
SheKnows.com: My favorite stories of last week:
Kirstie Alley "was trying not to be a whore"--The title of this is just awesome.
Channing Tatum is People's Sexiest Man Alive this year.--Trust me, the news has been spoiled.
Brandi Glanville disses LeAnn Rimes.--The fact that I know how to spell LeAnn that way says enough.

Fashion Fridays: New Era Caps
Back in September during Emmys Week, I had the opportunity to take a look backstage at the official presenters lounge. I was introduced to so many cool products, but I was definitely drawn to New Era Caps. It's no secret that I love my hats, particularly the fedora. You can see my hat here in Paris, in Munich, and even in Prague.
Well, a few weeks ago a package arrived at my door with a couple of goodies for a hat fan like me. They sent me an awesome black fedora that is comfortable and well-constructed, so it's the perfect addition to my series of fedoras and travel hats.
Disclosure: The hats were compliments of New Era Caps. All opinions are my own.

They also sent this Boston gal a cap that is perfect for so many reasons...my favorite team: The Boston Celtics! Shhhh, please do not tell anyone as I am living in LA and in Lakers territory. I know I need to mold the lid, but I cannot wait to hit the trails and wear the hat on my next hike.
Now, if they only carried my latest obsession that is carrying over from Halloween...kitty ears!
You can check out my Emmys gifting suite article here on Starpulse and see the latest inventory at New Era Caps on their website.
Are you a hat person? Let me know what your favorite type of hat is!
Twilight Fans: I am doing a fan chat today at 4pm PT/7pm ET with Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2 star, Marisa Quinn, who plays Huilen. Come join me on Spreecast for the inside scoop on the hottest movie of the saga. Link is here for the fan chat: Spreecast

KB News Network
After all of my hard work this week, I promise I did have fun.....The Book of Mormon at the Pantages was just the kind of dirty laughs I needed!
Spreecast: Emmy Predictions in the Comedy and Drama Categories with me, AJ Gibson, and Stuart Brazell:
AfterBuzz TV: So You Think You Can Dance Finale with Emmy-Nominated choreographer, Spencer Liff. This was my favorite broadcast all week because Spencer has done four Broadway shows.....I'm such a musical theatre nerd.
AfterBuzz TV: The New Normal with me, AJ Gibson, Lauren Leonelli, and Anna Koppel. We break down two episodes on a series I am not completely sold on yet. There are an awful lot of stereotypes being thrown around here. Do you agree? Watch here.
Spreecast: Behind the Red Carpet Live with Cheeks, creator of the online series, Husbands. We did a lot of comparison between his show and The New Normal. His show was created first and originally dubbed "the new normal" by This American Life back in October 2011. Interesting, no? Watch here.
SheKnows. com: I began my first week on the job! Here are a few of the articles I wrote: Amanda Bynes is a mess, Demi Moore is a mess, and oh yeah, Chad Johnson is too.
Tom Barnard Podcast: Tom is a legendary broadcaster in the Minnesota area and I was fortunate enough to make an appearance on his show this week talking all about Emmys Week. You can listen here and I will hopefully be on another show soon.
I will be covering the Emmys official gifting suite this weekend plus I'm off to the NBC, HBO, and The Awards Lounge parties, so follow me on Instagram: @KristynBurtt, Twitter, or Facebook for all of the updates.

Falling Into Fall
Last night on AfterBuzz TV......
Some of the things in the mix that I can talk about right now include:
AfterBuzz TV: SYTYCD (ends September 18th with choreographer, Spencer Liff)
DWTS (starts the week of September 24th)
The New Normal (Tuesdays at 10PM PT--See our host photo here.)
Cocktails and Conversation: Talking VMAs, SYTYCD, and Hollywood divorce.
I will also be going back to my roots with an appearance on one of the electronic retailing networks in October. Can you guess which one?
Finally, I will be doing an Emmys week countdown with Stuart Brazell on Spreecast, so there will be a lot to keep up with this fall. Be sure to check my News/Appearances page for the latest updates.

Behind The Red Carpet Live: Yuri Lowenthal
A huge thanks to Yuri Lowenthal of Shelf Life and Ben-10 for stepping in at the last minute as a guest on Behind The Red Carpet Live today on Spreecast. If you missed the show, you can watch it below. We chatted about Tony Scott's iconic movies, Phyllis Diller, Lisa Whelchel on Survivor, and even the hypocrisy surrounding male and female celebs in the media......yep, Jennifer Aniston versus George Clooney.
What are your thoughts on today's hot topics?
Jesus, An Iguana, And A Vampire Walk Into A Bar....
Bill Irwin and me. For further explanation, see my Facebook page.
To try and sum up last week would take a lot of explaining, so I am going to sum it up with a few words and more photos instead. It just was a really great week that defied my own personal and professional expectations. It's not often you get those opportunities, so you have to cherish and relish them at the same time. Here we go.......
A better shot of the look, minus the shoes.
With Chris Mulkey and Reamy Hall after the Q&A for Vampire Mob that I moderated. I don't know Reamy very well, but I feel like we should go out for Happy Hour. She's kind of awesome like that.
The Web Files team rides again! Should we start a rumor? Here with Sandra and Perry Payne.
I like this shot because it is moody.
I went home and then someone called me back out to play. Along the way, I met Jesus. No, I'm serious, Jesus. Then the photo went viral. Read the story.
I "might" have stayed out all night thanks Bar Marmont and Mel's Diner. While Ryan Seacrest was starting his radio show, I was heading home. It was fun......but I did have an interview about 6 hours later where I ran into an iguana. We posed for photos.
This week stands to be just as much fun. Can you say Munich? What does this week have in store for you? Share in the comments below! I want to hear what you are up to.

EFFEN Vodka Art Of Design Event
Last week, I was invited to sample the latest drinks from EFFEN Vodka created by local mixologists. Honestly, this was the perfect end to a hot summer day in Los Angeles. We have been dealing with a heatwave throughout the Southland, so a crisp summer drink at the downtown Marvimon in their outdoor garden lounge was just what the doctor ordered. My favorite cocktail had a delicious mix of Cucumber EFFEN Vodka with an infused mix of honeydew melon, dill, and red and green bell peppers. It may sound wacky, but it was delicious and refreshing. My +1 for the night was my friend, Julie, who ran with me from table to table as we tried spicy and sweet concoctions with EFFEN vodka and voted with marbles on our favorite drinks. One recommendation for next year's event? Food. You had skinny LA girls gulping down EFFEN Vodka all night and then hopping in their cars to drive around LA. This Gluten Free gal was begging for a cracker or bread to sop up a little alcohol, that's how badly I wanted a morsel of food.
If you are looking for a way to spice up your summer cocktail recipes, check out EFFEN Vodka. (Only if you are over 21, kids!)
Enjoy the photos from the evening........

London Games: Swimming Showdown-Going For Gold
Today was Day 3 of our London Games chat on Spreecast. We had Josh Sussman (Glee) and Tess Hunt joining us to discuss all things aquatic and it got a bit nutty......even the screen was a little Brady Bunch-esque. So, have fun watching the show and don't miss out on our discussion of cycler's thighs. Wow. And oh yeah, Ryan Seacrest. Remind me again why he's covering the Olympics? In the meantime, we are taking tomorrow off, but we will be back later in the week with more Olympics chatter.

London Games: Gymnastics Drama
I don't think it gets any better than talking gymnastics with Michael Buckley of What the Buck?! fame. If you thought I was the biggest gymnastics geek, he certainly has me beat. He gave us some great insight on what happened in today's Women's Gymnastics Team Finals. Check out me and Stuart Brazell as we talk all things Olympics on Spreecast......
