Emmys Viewing Party: Dress Details

These are always some of my most popular articles on my site, the "who are you wearing" posts.  Well, here are all of the details for my outfit from the Emmy Awards 100 Stars Night Out Viewing Party:

Dress:  Gifted by Deborah Viereck.  You have seen me wear a lot of her dresses here and here.  They are so comfortable to wear and I have one striped dress that I wear over and over again. Another good thing to know is that the clothes are created right here in LA.

Shoes:  Bandolino, Spring 2003 collection

Belt, Ring, Earrings:  Roni B

Bracelets:  Target

Stylist:  Roni B.

Makeup:  Carolina Groppa

Carolina and Roni helped coordinate my look for the Oscars last February, so you know I trust them implicitly with all of my red carpet looks.  I told Carolina I am moving her into my house because I want to look like this every day. (See photo below.)

Glimpsed Launch Party

My "go-to" dress by Deborah Viereck with my ASOS clutch.

Last night, I headed to Venice Beach to the Hotel Erwin to check out the launch party for a new app called Glimpsed.  Glimpsed is described as "a new way to share the faces and the places that make up your social scene and define your lifestyle." You can rate photos, meet new friends globally, and check out the hottest places in your area.  The app is FREE and currently available on the iPhone.

The best part of the night was the scavenger hunt to find all 7 of the Glimpsed logos and take creative photos with the app.  My friend, Maria, and I eagerly attacked this project.  We made sure she looked like she "photo bombed" each snapshot as I posed with the Glimpsed eyeball.  Then the photos were uploaded and shared with all of the Glimpsed users, many of whom where celebrating at the launch parties in San Francisco and New York.  The most creative photos with all 7 logos wins an iPad 2.  Wish me luck!

Many thanks to Melissa Rowley for the invitation to the party and to JD Piche for being a good sport and taking all of these absurd photos for us.  Even if we don't win, we sure had fun!

2010 in Review: January

It's that time of year again, a time to reflect and look back on the year that was:  2010.  I will be kicking it off with 5 photos each day over the next 12 days.  It was a busy year and one that professionally was very rewarding.  I look forward to achieving more of my goals in 2011 along with a little more time set aside to relax and rejuvenate.  May I present, January 2010:

1.  We kicked off the year on The Web Files with an interview about the controversy surrounding the release of The Bannen Way.  Jesse Warren and Mark Gantt couldn't be nicer (or cuter) and they went on to win multiple, well-deserved Streamy Awards.  Check out one of my favorite interviews of 2010.

2. Despite my pasty white thighs, I cannot stop wearing this Deborah Viereck dress bought at Roni B's.  I bought it for The Bannen Way interview, but I also showed up in the dress at the Ghostfacers premiere and Fashion's Night Out event. Time to retire it from photographed events rotation, sigh.

3.  This photo is from the NAIAS Charity Preview Night also known as the "Adult Prom" in Detroit.  It's a super swanky night filled with cars, stars, interesting fashion choices, and a headliner crooning the night away.
Me and 2009-2010 Toyota Account Manager, Lisa Cole:

4.  Ah, we can't forget this day:  The Great Cobo Hall Fire.  It was just an electrical fire, but the evacuation process was chaotic and the smell was even worse.  Jalopnik picked up the photos that I Tweeted out, so I gained a few more automotive friends in the process.  Here's my account of the fire.

5. The other fascinating element of NAIAS is the rabid photographers that come each year to photograph the cars and the girls.  I have one photographer who has come year after year to my show and he made laminated place mats for me this year.  It was certainly the most unique gift I have received from a fan.  And no, I don't eat off of KB place mats each night, my blue Target ones work just fine, thank you.

Come back tomorrow at Red Carpet Closet where I look back on February 2010--Chicago, Club 33, and the infomercial streak begins.

Fashion's Night Out: The Videos

Above:  Interviewing Cooper Harris for Mingle Media TV.  Below: Tattoos at Fashion's Night Out with Stephanie Thorpe.  Photo courtesy of Mingle Media TV.
I gave a quick wrap-up and a collection of photos from the Beverly Hills event for Fashion's Night Out yesterday and here are a few videos giving you highlights of all of the fun we had on Mingle Media TV:

Highlight Video:
Watch me run through the store where I find an Impressionist picture frame, a very expensive goose, and those beautiful red soles all on the same floor. If you haven't been to Beverly Hills before, this Saks store is to die for, Ladies. Take a tour and enjoy the ride:

Cooper Harris:
This gal is a good friend of mine who is gaining quite a bit of noteriety for her appearances in Syfy's trifecta of animal disaster movies.  Come on, raise your hand, who saw Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus with Debbie Gibson and Lorenzo Lamas?  I thought you did!  This movie is deliciously campy, add it to your rental list if you missed it.

Marsha Collier:
If anyone knows about shopping, it is ebay expert, Marsha Collier.  Get a tip or two from Marsha and find out how her online shopping strategy really is savvy:

For those that were asking about my dress from this event, it was designed by Deborah Viereck, a local LA designer, with boots by Nine West.

Finally, tomorrow is the last day to enter the Web TV Prom ticket giveaway. Yes, this is geared towards my Southern California readers, but it will be a great night of charity.  I can't wait to wear my prom dress!
