AfterBuzz TV DWTS: Toni Basil & Sonny Pederson

Another week and more controversy. Could this season get any crazier? I'm not sure we all successfully answered the true reason behind Len's personal vendetta against Derek, but it's glaring at this point. It's no longer a cute TV story that creates controversy once a season. If you want to be consistent on your judging, you have to do it for every pro even if they have a dancer with less talent. The only thing I'm hearing now as a viewer is Len's criticism of Derek. I rarely hear him offer constructive comments on how Amber is doing. How do you solve this before the end of the season? Tell me what you think in the comments below.

I loved having Anna and Toni Basil in studio. Two amazing women with strong opinions, does it get any better? Toni is always someone who tells it like it is. That's exactly what I want to hear on the judging panel on DWTS. Sonny Pedersen had some great insight on the show as well.

I missed being in studio, but work in Detroit kept me from being there in person. I will be back in studio next week with our guest Witney Carson.

IAWTV Awards-Tonight!

Just a quick post since as I write this I am en route from NAIAS in Detroit to CES/IAWTV Awards in Vegas.  Is that enough acronyms for you?  Anyway, The Web Files is nominated for 3 awards and the awards ceremony is tonight.  If you would like to watch the festivities live, click here to see what happens. Either way, it's great to be nominated.  I am just going to relish in the moment of hanging with so many creative and talented people in the web space.  I'll be back posting as soon as I hit Detroit (again) with the results and my red carpet look for the night. If you want a sneak peek at my shoes, it's my beloved pair of silver strappy sandals.  You know I love to recycle, when possible.  Wish me luck!

North American International Auto Show 2011

If you have been following me on Twitter, then you have seen my notes and comments on NAIAS.  Right after I finished the live internet broadcast of the Toyota Prius v in LA, I jumped on a plane to Detroit to the North American International Auto Show.  This is the fourth year we have hit Detroit with Toyota Live and I have to say, I am having a better time this year than previous years.  Yes, service is still slow and things still close down early, but the economy is looking up in this town and the automotive industry is a whole lot happier versus January 2009.  I ranted and raved last year about my visit and an electrical fire in Cobo Hall dampened one of the days, but I think Detroit and I have turned the corner and happily, we have a new understanding.  Check out a few fun photos from the first weekend of NAIAS:

Thanks to Joe Neuberger and Jalopnik for giving me the secret sign via Twitter to get my free CFL bulb from BYD Auto.

I am one big day-glow orange pumpkin head while being interviewed for a local news story. Ah, convention center lighting!
